The Combination Course takes place all year round, from Monday to Friday (09.30-13.00 in the UK and 09.00-13.00 in Ireland).
Morning lessons follow the same programme as the Standard Course.
All morning courses are based on our CES Curriculum Framework Document which has common CEF learning objectives for each level. In addition each course is supported by published an EFL course book and its syllabus. Teachers complement this syllabus. Course books are sold at the schools at shop prices and students must buy one on their first day. Second hand books may also be available.
Levels available: Elementary (A1), Pre-intermediate (A2), Intermediate (B1), Upper Intermediate (B2) Advanced (C1).
There are two afternoons a week of one-to-one lessons, designed to meet the individual requirements of each student.
Prior to the first one-to-one session, students complete a Needs Analysis which helps the teacher to plan the one-to-one lessons according to the student’s specific needs. Teachers then work closely with the student to ensure these needs are being met. All students receive a final report detailing their progress and outlining future areas for attention.
The minimum age is 16 and there is a maximum of 14 students per class.
A combination course is 26.6 lessons (20 hours) per week.
15 hours General English in the mornings and 5 hours one-to-one lessons in the afternoons in the UK and in Ireland 20 hours in the morning and 5 hours one to one lessons.
1 lesson in the UK = 45 minutes
1 lesson in Ireland = 55 minutes
