CAMBRIDGE EXAM PREPARATION COURSES
In today's competitive world it is necessary for job seekers to have the highest qualifications possible. Our examination courses are designed to prepare students for these examinations and allow them to achieve the best possible results.
The Cambridge Examination Course is designed to prepare students for one of the following Cambridge Examinations:
- First Certificate in English (FCE)
- Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)
- Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
The Cambridge Examinations take place three times each year:-
Examination Exam Date
FCE and CAE mid-March
FCE, CAE and CPE mid-Jun
FCE, CAE and CPE mid-December
Students are advised to arrive one week before the course start date to allow time for assessment. We cannot accept a student for any examination course until CES have confirmed the student is at the appropriate level for their chosen examination. Courses take place in the morning in Dublin.
Please note there must be a minimum of 8 students for each level of the Cambridge Exam. Should we fail to reach 8 bookings for Proficiency we will amalgamate Advanced with Proficiency and CES and Swandean/CES will provide free tutorials for Proficiency students.

A formal IELTS qualification is essential for those candidates who intend to go on to student a university course through English. IELTS is the most widely accepted university entry requirement in Ireland or the UK. A score of between 6.0 and 7.5 is generally required. Examinations are scheduled regularly; a course of 4 weeks is advisable before the examination.
The special IELTS preparation course is designed for students preparing for entry to a British university or college in the autumn. It is available only to students of intermediate level or above, as determined by the CES and Swandean/CES entry test, or to those holding an existing IELTS grade of 5.0 or more overall, for which a photocopy of the certificate is required. There will be a test at the end of each week and a full mock examination in the final week of the course. The minimum number of enrolments required for each course is 6.
