When considering studying English abroad, it is always good for international students to have as many options as possible. That’s why the Centre of English Studies is excited to announce the opening of the CES Toronto campus. This new school offers our students the chance to improve their English in one of the largest metropolitan cities in North America.
With a vibrant and diverse population, Toronto is a dynamic and modern city with an endless variety of events, food and drink, and outdoor activities that students will love. Read on to learn more about what CES Toronto has to offer.
Why You Should Learn English in Toronto
With a population of over 7 million people, Toronto is one of the largest and busiest cities in North America and is also the capital of Canada’s finance, filmmaking and banking sectors. The city has an excellent public transportation system too! So even if students don’t want to live right down town, they can easily get around by subway, bus or streetcar.
Toronto is a major and multicultural international city
As part of our CES 360° Personal Care, we organise more than 20 sightseeing, sports, cultural and social activities every month. So our students have a chance to explore the city around them, while also working on their communication skills.
Some of the many events our students can experience include; visiting the famous CN Tower, Niagara Falls, professional basketball, baseball and hockey games, as well as weekend trips to Quebec and New York.
Why Choose CES Toronto?
With over 30 years of experience teaching the English language, CES knows what it takes to help students succeed and we will be bringing this expertise to our Toronto campus. Our new English school will offer the largest IELTS test centre in Canada and we also intend to become the first Eaquals accredited school in North America! Further reflecting our commitment to providing our students with the highest standard of education possible.
Like our other schools, CES Toronto will take an enthusiastic, positive approach to learning and provide our students with a fun and rewarding experience they will value long after their time with us.
Using Our New Facilities and Finding the Right Accommodation for You
One of the most important steps in any study abroad experience is deciding what part of the city you will live in while you study. CES Toronto offers students the option of staying with a host family or in a residence provided by the programme. Both choices offer their own benefits and fit different needs our students may have.
Homestay options are a great opportunity to learn English through full immersion with your Canadian host family. You will be provided with your own private room with a bed and desk and, depending on the area, a monthly transit pass. All homes have passed CES’s inspection and approval process and each family is ready to welcome you with true Canadian hospitality.
Our students benefit from a sense of community, and learn better together
If you prefer to stay in our residences, both private and shared rooms are available. Each residence comes fully furnished and is about 25 minutes from the school by subway. Every apartment has cable TV and unlimited internet included, as well as a meal plan which is available between September and May.
Our school is also fitted to meet our students’ needs. Located in Toronto’s Yorkville district CES is within walking distance from 3 subway stations, as well as Toronto’s lakefront promenade. We have a three-floor facility which features 27 different classrooms, an open concept reception for student services and three large, bright student lounges with pool tables and flat screen televisions. We also have a table tennis room, computer and mobile laptop labs and free internet access!
